As our students come from a wide geographical area, many of them use public transport to travel to and from school. We hope you find the following information helpful; if you have a question about travel to/from school which is not answered here, please contact the College Office.
Travel by Bus:
Metro
9a metro bus service:
- Morning – 8am bus leaves Donegal Square East, City Hall, and arrives at HHC for 8.19am
- Afternoon – 3.44pm from HHC to Wellington Place, Belfast for 4.07pm
Park & Ride
650 & 650a park and ride service from Europa Bus centre to Blacks Road. The Park & Ride is a 5-minute walk from Hunterhouse College:
- 8.15am from Europa arrives at Blacks Road for 8.25am
- 3.57pm from Blacks Road arrives to Europa for 4.10pm
Ulsterbus
Hunterhouse College is well served by buses operating along the Lisburn Road to Lisburn and further afield:
- 525 Belfast – Old Warren- Dundrod Drive
- 523 Belfast – Lisburn Buscentre
- 530 Belfast – Sprucefield
- 538 Belfast – Lisburn – Sprucefield – Hillsborough – Dromore – Banbridge
- 103 Belfast – Ballymacash – Crumlin
- 38 Belfast – Dromore – Banbridge
In addition to the bus service along the Lisburn Road, Translink operates three school buses that leave from the school grounds at 3:25pm Monday-Friday:

Bus Stop locations
For Lisburn and further afield, leave via school gates and turn right to the Bus Stop.
For Belfast, leave via school gates and turn left towards the traffic lights where you will cross the road to the bus stop.
Lost Bus Passes
In the event of a lost pass, this must be reported to the College Office. An interim bus pass will be issued to cover a period of 1 week, parents/carers must apply for a new bus pass at the cost of £20, instructions on how to apply for the new pass will be sent home with your child along with their interim pass.
Validity of Bus Passes
Education Authority bus passes are only valid from 1st September each year. Journeys made before 1st September have to be paid for.

You can check your eligibility for a bus pass before applying for an Education Authority Bus Pass.

Travel by Train
Finaghy Train Station is located a 10-minute walk from Hunterhouse College. Students can catch trains on both the Portadown and Bangor lines from here.

Travel by Car
Parents/carers who wish to drop off/pick up their child from the College site are welcome to do so as follows:
Drop Off/Pick up Points
Middle Car Park and Minor Hall car parks (left and right hand turns at the junction on the Front Drive) only.
Only cars which are dropping off/picking up students with impaired mobility or statements of SEN may access the front of Colinmore/Main School.
