At GCSE, students build on skills developed at KS3 to explore current issues that are affecting the world both globally and locally. The GCSE is comprised of 3 papers; Paper 1–Physical Geography, Paper 2–Human Geography and Paper 3–Fieldwork.
Why study Geography?
Students develop a deeper understanding of the world around us and the interaction between people and the environment.
Geography students develop a range of transferrable skills valued in the world of work including; teamwork, problem solving, decision making, creative thinking and manging information.
ICT skills are developed through new technologies including Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
Students that study Geography at GCSE have the opportunity to go on an International Fieldtrip during their course of study.
