Appointment of New Principal
The Board of Governors of Hunterhouse College would like to announce that Mr Chris Collins will be replacing Mr Andrew Gibson as Principal of the College at the start of the academic year 2025/2026.
Mr Collins is currently Deputy Head Pastoral and Designated Safeguarding Lead at Clifton High School in Bristol. He has previously held three other positions in the same school: Deputy Head Academic, Assistant Head: Teaching Enhancement and Quality Assurance, and Head of School Mathematics. Prior to this, Mr Collins worked at two schools in Oxfordshire – St Birinus School in Didcot, and Wood Green School in Witney.
A passionate educationalist and life-long learner, Mr Collins has a proven track record of successful leadership on both the academic and pastoral sides of school life and has overseen significant growth and school improvement during his time at Clifton High.
Mr Collins is delighted to be joining Hunterhouse College as its new Principal and was particularly drawn to the school’s focus on value-added and individual outcomes and achievements, in a caring and nurturing community. Mr Collins is excited to lead and further develop the school through its next chapter, building on the legacy of Mr Gibson’s successful leadership.
Mr Collins has thanked Mr Gibson for his support so far in the transition process, and greatly looks forward to beginning to meet students, staff, parents and the wider Hunterhouse community. The Governors would like to pass on their best wishes to Mr Collins in his new role.
